STUDENTS WORKING TO END WORLD HUNGER
A Project of the Rio Rancho High School Problem-Based Learning Class
Our Mission
Just six weeks ago, we started our final project-based unit for the school year. We examined the impact of famine on the world. We explored the many aspects of famine, including its history and core causes. Our first class goal was to set up a mission statement for the unit.
After a lot of discussion and debate we came up with the following mission statement:
“The problem-based learning class will investigate what causes famine throughout the world, how famine has affected world history, and how areas such as politics, science, war, weather, and economics combine to cause drought, famine, and starvation. We will also work together to come up with ideas to raise awareness about and fight famine.”
This Web site was created to raise awareness about famine. It includes information about famine-related issues, and lists suggestions as to what people can do, either on their own or as a group.
